Description
Ulambree Forest was a wondrous place to be growing up but it could not hold Tamiara Aurora Wolfrunner interest forever. There was a whole world out there. A living world that she was a part of and wanted….No needed to see.
She is one with nature. She always was. Since she was very little she felt a strong connection with any animal that she came across. And learning from her father who was a hunter how to move in the forest as not to disturb anything and what plants were dangerous and which had healing properties.
Her father was a kind man well respected in their village as a great hunter. He never killed for fun. He actually detested the thought and would take a moment after shooting an animal with his bow to apply a medicine (that his wife had made to stop the pain and put the creature to sleep) would talk to the animal, apologizing to it and thank it for feeding his family.
Her mother was a good woman. A devout follow of Folian S'pae and a nature lover herself. She would use herbs and plants from the surrounding forest to make potions and medicines for the villagers.
Tamiara was rarely home as a child she would disappear into the forest for sometimes days on end wandering the forest. Her mother would worry immeasurably about Tamiara. One time when she was 8 she was gone for a whole week. Her father had gone looking for her and found her many miles from home sleeping in a wolves den huddled in between 2 mother wolves.
But now that she is 21 she decided it is time to leave the comfortable surroundings of the Forest and see "her" Living World.
As she is leaving the forest that she knows she belongs to she wanders past a grove from her past. she remembers a time when she was much younger..maybe 21, she came across some Drow hunting mother wolves for their pups. probably to train them as dogs of war... not that she care for what purpose the drow wanted them. It was not the point. The point was that if they needed the pups thy should at least attempt to communicate with the creature. NOT just killing it to steal its pups, who would probably be short chain and flogged into submission. The thought horrified her and without hesitation she raised the bow her father had made for her and laid an arrow across it. Breathing slowly and calmly she took notice of how the wind was blowing on her brown skin (another trick her father had taught her to help her aim) before she had even cared to notice that she had let the arrow go the first drow hunter was on the ground with an arrow in his throat and she had already let the next arrow go at the other hunter but it missed and alerted th hunters to the presence of someone that was unknown to them. Ducking out of sight she snuck around the hunters who had spread out to look for their unknown assailant. Now the hunter was the hunted. The very thought of claiming vengence for the creature of the forest had excited her a little but not enough to sway her to give away her position. Slowly and methodicaly she killed every last drow that she came across.
When the killing was done she released the Wolves from their prisons tending to any wounds they may have. One in particular she felt a stronger connection with, he obviously felt it too as he licked her as she tended to his tender paw and lash cuts from where the hunters had whipped it in an attempt to subdue it.
After she had finished tending to the wounds of all the animals she raced home with excitement to tell her parents what had happened. With this one wolf following behind.
The wolf never left her side. And Wolf as she affectionatly called it (giving a creature a name that was not its natural name just didnt seem right) was her best friend and followed her everywhere.
The day that "Wolf" passed on to the earth was a sad day for her but like all creature of the world it must return to the earth and be reborn. There has been many wolves that have come to be by her side
