Ahndar Sussail

Ahndar is human in appearance and manner, but his celestial heritage is very much known to him. From the day he was born he has felt the flow of the Weave around him. It was always clear that people around him sensed his difference as well. Most where uncomfortable around the hansome silver-haired boy, and some even feared and shunned him. His father had died while he was still an infant, and his mother tried to raise her only child as a normal human boy. But even to her, his piercing eyes and uncompromising mind was a burden. At the age of 12 he had a dream of visiting the home plane of Lucinda, the Lady of Spells. In the dream he met the ancestrial source of his celestial blood - a Celestial Guardian of the Weave, and a loyal subject of Lucinda herself.

After that dream, Ahndar began to understamd his connection to magic. His mother, who knew his family background, gave him her blessings and he travelled to the nearest temple of Lucinda to pledge his life to the service of the Goddess and the protection of all magic. When the master of the temple learned of his heritage, he was sent to the nearest academy of magic. Here he was put into a class of mostly older students, and many of them became jealous at the young upstart. Ahndar excelled in his studies, and his devotion and dedication was clear to his mentors. But still, the other students shunned him for his quick provess, and he found no friends at the academy. Most if his spare time was spent watching the Paladins of his order, the Protectors of the weave, in their daily training and excercises. And it was the old veteran Baldrian that took him in and tought him the honour of the sword.

Then one night, when Ahndar was in his mid-twenties, his celestial ancestor came to him in a dream again. And Ahndar welcomed the dreams message that he was to travel east through the High Forest, at the feet of the Grey Peaks, where his destiny awaited him. Though he is fully accepted in his order, Ahndar always feels out of place around "normal" people and is most comfortable on his own. So he enjoyed his lonely journey, and as he travelled, he felt his link to weave strengthen.

He spent three years travelling the lands while visiting many of Lucinda's temples. It was on one of these journeys, he came to meet the half-giant Grokgrok. After a fierce battle against a band of orcs, Grokgrok was badly wounded and had to flee. That is when Ahndar stumpled upon him. Although suspiciuos of the giant man, Ahndar healed his wounds and promised to help him against the orcs. With the blessing of Lucinda, the unlikely pair defeated the orcs. And in the years to follow, the two travelled much together. Ahndar liked the quiet company of the slow-witted brute who seemed as out of place in the world as himself.

Ahndar is intent of preserving the balance of the weave, and as such, has dedicated himself to seek out the farthest reaches of the world, looking for people and creatures that defile this very fabric of the world. The defilers will be pursued with sword and magic, for the glory of Lucinda, and the preservation of the Weave.
