Description
Twenty-one years ago, a traveling wood-elf made safe passage to High Forest, on a quest to discover the truth behind the rumors of the Underdark passageways. When he stopped for rest along Lake Sieron, near Harmony Grove, he discovered a young infant, who was being cared for by a pack of bears. Attached to the boy’s clothing was a scroll of parchment with a message: “Whoever may find my son, please take care of him, as I cannot. The creatures of the Underdark are searching for my husband and me. I don’t understand why they’re after the two of us in particular, but they seem interested in our Aasimar heritage. I don’t know whether they want information from us, or if they want to use us for some experiment, but it might have to do with the divine nature of the Aasimar. I don’t think we will be able to survive much longer. We cannot afford to risk our son’s life, so we must part with him so he can have the opportunity to survive. Please find this! Take care of our dear Taliesin, and let us live on in his memory and yours. We love you Taliesin.” This young wood-elf, known as Naiather, felt a sense of compassion towards the infant boy, in remembrance of his own life growing up as an orphan. He vowed to raise the boy as his own son, and named him Trathar (Tree-Friend). Naiather had a great respect for the forest, and wanted his newfound son to share his views, so he felt the name was a just one. Also, in respect for the boy’s parents, he kept the boy’s original name, and the boy became Trathar Taliesin. As years passed, Trathar learned much from Naiather, striving to become wise in the ways of the Druid, the Ranger, and the Shifter. Trathar admired the bears that had raised him, and created a close bond with the pack. In his teenage years, he bonded with the offspring of two of the bears who had nursed him while he was abandoned, and the bear became his inseparable companion. He named the young bear Reinar, meaning “Bear-Brother” in his adopted father’s native Elvish. Trathar has become very interested in his Aasimar heritage, because it lead to his parent's murder and his heritage is of some unknown value to the creatures of the Underdark. Taliesin is commited to discovering all about his heritage, the origins of his family line, and the reason his parents were murdered in cold blood for being Aasimar. Naiather and Trathar, along with their animal companions, live as protectors of the spirit of the forest and together quest to find each of their origins.
