BIOGRAPHY:

Iolantir N'maerth Rhovanion, which very loosely translates into the human tongue as 'bowman of the hidden woods', was born on the continent of Voltrex just outside the town of Seldarine. His father was a craftsman who peddled his wares in several villages near the Ulambree Forest. During the early years of his life he spent much of his time working with his father learning various trades and helping gather resources from the forest that were necessary for their survival.

Iolantir's free time would usually be spent wandering in the woods, where he was very at home with his solitude. When he did travel with others it usually wasn't other elves, he much enjoyed being in the company of various woodland creatures who would follow along with him as if completely comfortable with his presence.

After many years living in the forest, Iolantir became very adept at making bows & arrows of his own in order to hunt for food and making clothing and shelter from readily available materials. He could head out into the deep woods and sustain himself on only what the land had to offer. He is a worshipper of Folian S'pae and would dare not take any more than necessary to survive.

Once he became of age, his family pressured him into the arcane arts, traditional for males of his clan. Iolantir's mother took him to the wizard's enclave high in the treetops. There he studied until he understood and could effectively wield the arcane powers. He willingly did so, but not at the expense of his free time with his animal companions, who were better friends to him than most people were.

After completing his studies, Iolantir returned to live in the forest near Seldarine. Often he would accompany his father when traveling the trade routes thru the forest. On one particular journey they were taking a large quantity of goods down a wooded path and were ambushed by a Goblin raiding party. Both Iolantir and his father were both taken captive and were later sold to Ogre slave traders who transported them to Mistone for labor duties.

One day the Ogres had Iolantir and several other slaves clearing land in the middle of a wooded area so a small fort could be built. He was so agitated by being forced to needlessly cut down trees that he finally made a run for it. He ran as fast as he could thru the forest with a couple of Ogres not far behind him. Fortunately, the Ogres were not as agile as Iolantir. Iolantir quickly scrambled up the branches of a very large tree and the Ogres were unable to climb to the heights he had reached. In fact, one of them lost his grip and tumbled down into the other Ogre below him taking both of them spiraling to the ground below where they died upon impact becoming part of the forest they had been working to destroy.

Iolantir is now free, but lost and confused in a strange new land. He longed to find and free his father from captivity and for both of them to find a way home and reunite with his mother and the rest of their clan. Currently, Iolantir spends much of his time as a lone nomad trying to learn about his new surroundings and try to find a way back to Seldarine. He does not have many friends outside of the Elven race as he prefers his own kind as company. Those who he does befriend simply call him 'Io'.
