Alfie Akenea

Born into the noble house of Akenea in Voltrex, Uthlian was always reminded of his heritage and how the walls of the villa were there to protect him. He couldn't help but wonder what lay in wait beyond the cold marble. He was very young when his mother was dragged into an early grave, but his brother took charge of looking after little Uthlian at the time. Often referring to him with the human name Alfie.

A few years after the tragic incident, and wondering around the halls of the eastern wing, Uthlian noticed something odd, out of place. Hidden behind a bookcase, that had always been perfectly stationed but now slanted, was a flicker of light. Investigation led to the sudden realisation that here was a hidden room. Kept secret from the children and Uthlian for years but now disturbed. "Uthlian!" Shouted one of the family members. "Where are you?"

Whispers at night, and howls as dark as night in the distance, sent pulses racing, but no-where near as fast as now. The excitement was intense. Peering into the room, a grimoire could be seen. Uthlian thought for a moment, wishing that his sorcerer brother might have been there to witness this. Even though he knew his brother would not be able to do much with the grimoire, he might know something about the room. He ran up and held the grimoir, looking at the writing, his eyes glanced over the confusing words which at the time would mean very little to him. Flicking back to the beginning of the book, Uthlian smiled as he read "For Alfie". The family was searching for Uthlian and found his location eventually, claiming that they had never seen the room before but something was hidden beneath that white lie. Uthlian knew what he wanted to do. Fascinated by magic he wanted to study the arcane, learn the ways of the Wizards.

Tearful days and thoughts would soon arise, as a now 100 year old Uthlian prepared to say farewell to his homeland of Voltrex - He was moving to Hempstead. Intent on working as an ambassador for Voltrex, with some coin in his pockets, and some carefully chosen books from the family library as a parting gift from the family, to get him to his destination safely, and to donate to the Tower where he had hoped to continue his studies as a Wizard, Uthlian prepared to leave.

It took a while for the family and Uthlian to grasp the fact that he would be cut off from his family, and could never return to Voltrex, but he felt that the study of magic, and what he could do with it, would be worth the sacrifice.

Studying at the Tower was most rewarding, and sharing what information he could about the rich culture of the Voltrex population was very pleasing.

One day at the age of 120, just having reached very early adult-hood whilst wondering around the outskirts of town, he had seen a familiar face he had seen several years beforehand.
